Full-Time DMV Deputy Commissioner of Modernization

Job Description
- Serve as an advisor to our NCDMV Commissioner providing assistance in making modernization and operations improvement for NCDMV statewide.
- Ensure that strategic initiatives are developed and implemented for optimal staff performance and excellent customer service throughout the state.
- Develop long-term goals and strategies, evaluate the steps, and identifying challenges in reaching these goals.
- Oversee execution of strategic initiatives and special projects.
- Ensure that clear and consistent communications throughout NCDMV is maintained regarding strategic planning related to modernization.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and engagement.
- Exercise problem solving and foster a collaborative atmosphere for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience leading critical organizational change initiatives.
- Working knowledge of strategic planning implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to use problem solving skills to manage a diverse organization.
- Experience composing and presenting information to diverse audiences.
- Experience evaluating risk assessment for organizational process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree, and
- 3+ years experience, and
- 2+ years of management experience in the public or private sector involving significant decision-making authority in the planning, organizing, and directing of operations; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
