Job Description
Director of Strategic Partnerships
Start Date: Immediate
Role Type: Full Time
Location: Remote, Southern California preferred
Who We Are
The Learner-Centered Collaborative (LCC) is an educator-led non-profit company dedicated to helping districts and schools nationwide make the shift to learner-centered education. We have a growing network of public district and independent school partners using our professional learning services as part of their journey towards a learner-centered model.
About the Learner-Centered Collaborative Leadership & Learning Team
Our Leadership and Learning team leverages strategic and evidence-based offerings to meet schools and districts where they are on the continuum toward learner-centered education. Our approach provides our partners with practice-embedded professional learning specifically designed to put learners first.
Our work is guided by our Learner-Centered framework, which also serves as a blueprint for all our partners as they build out their unique learning models. Learner-centered education is most effective when a collective learning community progresses toward common goals. We facilitate this by helping schools develop and articulate learner-centered outcomes, support educators in developing effective instructional practices, and create the enabling conditions that result in transformative change.
What You Will Do
- Co-design and/or curate the canon of LCC professional learning experiences — workshops, strategic consulting, platform training, Communities of Practice, etc, as well as learning resources including protocols, playbooks, toolkits, videos, blog posts, white papers, etc.
- Design and facilitate strategy and professional development sessions for a variety of audiences: regional, state, and district leadership teams, teachers, coaches, principals, etc.
- Own relationships and execute project plans with district and school administrators and educators as a project lead, ranging from instructional model design, learner-centered education implementation, leadership coaching/development and capacity building, new school design, and professional learning strategy. Track progress on partner satisfaction and communicate project status to stakeholders, escalating project issues to leadership when necessary.
- Explore new models and offerings for partnerships. Interface with prospective partners and vendors in order to cultivate and grow LCC’s pipeline of strategic partners.
- Manage and nurture a team of partnership leads or consultants to support school and district partnerships.
What You’ve Done and Learned Along The Way
- 5+ years managing strategic partnerships across a broad range of audience and outcomes
- Demonstrable experience with change management and comfort in navigating the unique needs, constraints and expectations of partners
- Prior experience with coaching professionals to become better in their unique role and responsibilities
- Proven track record of building long-lasting relationships with state level and/or district partners and stakeholders; ie year over year contracts for services
- Strong professional presence and the ability to connect with customers and decision-makers at all levels of an organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong public speaking and presentation skills and the ability to listen and synthesize information quickly
Why You Want This Job!
You are known for leveraging resources to creatively solve problems. You plan ahead and find alternative paths, when needed, to get to the finish line. You enjoy building authentic relationships across lines of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender identity, citizenship status, or other identities. A master communicator, you can easily navigate complex conversations and keep them productive. You have a passion for meeting ALL learners (students, parents, teachers, leaders, support staff) where they are, finding their unique strengths and talents and co-creating support opportunities to accomplish their goals. You understand that an industrial model of education is a thing of the past and can willingly embrace and navigate the messy middle of change; anchoring the work in core values, learner-centered beliefs, and high levels of collaboration.

DEI Statement
At the heart of learner-centered education is an acknowledgment that every student is unique and capable. Helping educators shift away from a model that prioritizes standardization and compliance, Learner-Centered Collaborative is part of a broader movement that empowers each student by seeing our unique Identities as assets. As our CEO has written, “Being learner-centered is a direct challenge to inequality in all forms. At its essence, learner-centered education embraces the notion that equity requires us to see and know one another as real people and then to design improvements as a community.”
That same view holds true for our team: our unique identities are assets. Each employee’s unique experiences, perspectives, and identity are crucial to our success. We bring our authentic selves to our work, and pursue our goals together as a community. We are committed to attracting and retaining team members who reflect the broad, diverse populations we serve and to creating a work environment that is inclusive, equitable, and welcoming.
