The Opportunity: Lone Star Justice Alliance (LSJA) seeks an experienced attorney to lead its growing legal team. The ideal candidate is a change-maker passionate about criminal and juvenile justice reform in Texas. Responsibilities include developing legal and policy strategies, supervising a team, providing legal support, staying updated on relevant laws, supporting PR, development, and conducting administrative tasks.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate possesses strong research and writing skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and an abiding commitment to social justice. They should be a team player, outstanding legal technician, excellent leader, and supervisor. High energy, enthusiasm, emotional intelligence, and empathy are crucial. The candidate must have at least 8 years of legal experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience, a J.D. degree, and be a licensed attorney in Texas or able to become licensed quickly.
Compensation & Benefits: This in-person position, with offices in Dallas, Austin, or potentially Houston (preference Austin), offers a salary range of $90,000-$110,000. LSJA provides a comprehensive benefits program, including employer-paid premiums for major medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance.
