Position
We are seeking a Director of Engineering who will help us operate at the next level of scale. A successful candidate will have experience supporting, managing, and mentoring developers of various backgrounds and skill levels. As a leader within the engineering organization, you will help set and measure progress towards goals that align with company strategy, by partnering with the senior leadership team. A successful candidate will have experience ensuring critical systems are operating smoothly and effectively, providing guidance to our teams on best practices to best meet customer SLAs and uptime requirements. Importantly, we are looking for someone who makes us better both through innovation as well as consistently driving positive improvements in company culture and team dynamics.
Requirements
- Oversee and manage development teams
- System and product reliability and monitoring
- Security and compliance
- Partner with product to set requirements, goals, and timelines on important initiatives
- Develop engineering strategies that balance product needs alongside technical debt and future scaling and architectural requirements
- Build a world class team of engineers through a standardized hiring process
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including integrations and tooling
- Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget
Technical problems you’ll be helping us solve
- Building a scalable stream processing, aggregation, and summarization pipeline
- Serving public LaunchNotes pages to millions of end-users
- Sending thousands of contextual and relevant notifications to highly engaged end-users
- Building a privacy and security-focused analytics engine to help LaunchNotes customers understand how impactful their work is to their users
