We are looking for an experienced Design Engineering Team Leader who will oversee Design and Release Engineers, that develop aftertreatment solutions for a diverse range of OEM’s on a global scale. This is an integral position, providing direction to an experienced team of engineers, and is also highly influential in the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities for the group.
Your impact will include;
* Lead an international team on various programmes, designing innovative emissions solutions. Directly managing the resources and maximizing group productivity to ensure that client specifications are met in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders and clients to gain an understanding of programme requirements, managing design task allocation across all available resources (UK, India, Internal and external)
* Review the capacity vs demand process for Product Design and Product Release functions for all European projects to proactively identify resource shortages and develop solutions to mitigate.
* Focuses on Team Development, owning capability matrix for all designers working on European programs and is lead capability growth plan development and execution to meet business needs in both short and long term. Identify regional training needs and ensures that appropriate solutions are developed and implemented.
* Act as the key contact for all external design resources including the identification and development of relationships with new potential providers.
* Own regional metrics for Product Design and Product Release, ensuring up to date at all times and looks for opportunities for continuous improvement within their team.
* Represents European Region in Global Forums.
To be a success in this role you will need;
* A STEM degree would be beneficial, or qualified by directly relevant experience.
* Prior knowledge of Product Development Processes and New Product Introduction is essential.
* Demonstable experience leading and developing a team of engineers.
* Able to travel to Darlington up to 20%

• Salary between £ 56,000 and £68,000 depending on experience.
