Full-Time Deputy Director of Digital Advocacy Campaigns

Job Description

Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation’s largest gun violence prevention advocacy group, is seeking a Deputy Director of Digital Advocacy Campaigns. We are looking for a skilled writer, technologist, and strategist to assist with the growing grassroots movement to prevent gun violence. 
This person will help provide strategy and execution in state and national campaigns with a heavy focus on using email and broadcast SMS to engage supporters on actions both online and offline. This campaigner should be energetic, entrepreneurial, and ready to invest in building a massive set of digital campaign skills while helping the fight to end gun violence in this country. This is a full-time position with Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund.  
In this role you will:

  • Monitor and report out on national campaign performance, recommending optimizations as needed
  • Collaborate with leadership of other departments and other colleagues to develop ambitious and creative strategies for engagement and supporter-centric campaigns
  • Maintain a culture of learning, experimentation and iteration across all our channels. Seek out new practices and learnings from others both within and outside the organization to share with the team;
  • Act in a leadership role in partnering with fundraising and field to create integrated user journeys, segmentation strategies.
  • Leverage lapsed data to identify ways to grow our movement and re-engage supporters.
  • Coordinate the creation and dissemination of digital content (websites, email, online actions, videos, social and multimedia content) for assigned campaigns and mobilizations.


You should have:

  • 3+ years of digital advocacy or digital organizing work for political campaigns or non-profit groups.
  • Excellent planning skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and campaigns under tight deadlines
  • Experience leading national campaigns and track record of successfully increasing digital engagement
  • Deep commitment to testing, reporting, and analyzing results.
  • 1+ year(s) of management experience
  • Ability to communicate on complex policy in an inclusive and digestible way


The annualized salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000.  Everytown offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision benefits; paid time off; a 401(k) match; education assistance; and more.
