Full-Time Database Specialist

Job Description

In this position you will be responsible for data management operations of the National Wildlife Federation’s Supporter systems.  This role is key to the smooth operation of servicing our Supporters and their interactions with NWF.  This role includes oversight of: data hygiene, reviewing database reporting to maintain data health, system testing, requirements gathering/documentation, and other data research projects.  You would also be responsible for performing tasks/running reports in the database to maintain data integrity.  You would be expected to be proactive in finding hygiene issues and recommending process changes or other solutions to improve overall hygiene quality.  You must be detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively on tasks and projects assigned.  You will report to the Senior Manager, CRM.

In this role you will:

Serve as the subject matter expert on data hygiene projects (e.g. merges, appends, imports) happening in Supporter systems
Perform data cleanup efforts in Supporter systems with respect to merges on various entities throughout the system
Build custom queries and reports in Supporter systems for end users as needed
Perform data integrity checks on Supporter data
Manage user accounts and security roles
Troubleshoot, test and document data issues/bugs/upgrade enhancements
Perform gap analysis on existing processes and functionality
Perform data imports received from end users, vendors, or internal staff
Perform administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and skills
2+ year experience with and significant understanding of complex relational databases
1+ year experience performing building queries and reports
Competence with MS Office, advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, Access, Power Pivot a plus)
Customer service or help desk experience preferred
Excellent attention to detail and proven ability of accurate data entry and query building
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to explain complex data scenarios clearly
Proven ability to proactively identify and report on issues within job scope and participate in implementing solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ year experience with SQL queries

There will be some light travel in this role to attend conferences and perform field office visits.
