If you are excited about the challenge of managing the warehouse databases of a large university, you may be the candidate we’re looking for. As the Database Administrator for Warehouse Systems, you’ll be responsible for managing the warehouse databases to ensure continuous uptime and fast response time. Your role will also work collaboratively with Institutional Research and Decision Support and others in the campus community to enhance warehouse systems to fit the needs of the university and support their data needs. This position has the potential for partial remote work.  If you are ready for a new challenge, we’d like to talk with you.

 

This position will maintain the enterprise data warehouse; provide database administrative support for Ball State’s enterprise database servers, including Redshift, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Servers; provide database solutions and support to clients of Enterprise Information Systems (EIS); effectively utilize the resource areas available within and outside of EIS in order to implement appropriate solutions that address the needs of clients. Help to ensure the high reliability and availability of applications running on local or remotely hosted enterprise systems.  Additionally, work with the ERP Administrators in Banner.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by date of appointment, or Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to two years, or High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years. One year of demonstrated knowledge and experience in database server support, system analysis, design or application development. Experience gained through professional employment or internship experience will count towards this requirement.  Demonstrated expertise in IT project leadership spanning all phases of development; proven verbal and written communication skills.

 

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Relational database administration experience with Microsoft Oracle and/or SQL Server in an enterprise server environment. Demonstrated competency in SQL or SQL-like languages and creating ETL/ELT packages or procedures. Data Warehousing, three or more years Redshift, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server experience. Experience with Ellucian Banner systems, StarRez, Canvas, Tableau, or AWS. Demonstrated expertise in enterprise application development environments used by IT for the development of Intranet/Internet applications; demonstrated expertise in administering relational database management systems; and experience in data warehouse support. Experience in process improvement projects.
