Full-Time Data Governance Manager

Job Description

LOCATION

Onsite hybrid work from our Jacksonville, FL HQ is required with flexibility to work remote up to 2 days per week.

SUMMARY

The Data Governance Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the Data Enablement framework and strategy with a strong focus data practices, policies, and standards at an enterprise level. The Data Governance Manager will lead the team who oversees data quality, protection, and governance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforces data protection meets the needs and practices of continuous changing regulatory policies in the enterprise and meets all compliance requirements
  • Develops and implements Data Quality practices for the division
  • Develops the roles and responsibilities for Data Governance and ensures accountability of the stewardship and master data assets
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance related to Metadata / Lineage / Data Dictionary / Business Glossary
  • Provides oversight in the data governance of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications
  • Consults with senior leadership and department management within Operations and IT to influence business partners and service providers regarding data governance
  • Designs and develops Data Governance roadmap
  • Responsible for the inventory of enterprise data
  • Oversees the development of the quality and performance metrics and ensures compliance with data-related standards and policies
  • Uses knowledge of data governance and industry regulatory requirements to develop company data governance protocols and minimize the risk of regulatory fines
  • Develops financial estimates for operating and/or capital expenses expected from meeting team deliverables including financial forecasting, purchasing decisions, and staffing related costs for new or existing products or company initiatives
  • Helps structure and identify the roles for Data Users, Data Owners, and Data Stewards
  • Provides oversight of data sharing between enterprise and our clients, vendors, and partners
  • Develops Data Governance training
  • Manages, mentors, guides, advises and/or checks the work of Data Governance team
  • May negotiate and/or contract with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products
  • Performs other related duties as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
  • Requires six (6) or more years of related experience with at least two (2) years of leadership responsibility
  • Experience with Data Enablement and Governance

PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS

  • Experience leading and managing Data Enablement and Governance practices in enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
  • Experience with Data Quality / Metadata and Lineage
  • Experience in the data ecosystems of financial services, healthcare, or other heavily regulated industry
  • Familiarity of Agile principles
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively complete budget preparation, cost management
  • Ability to proactively address difficult issues related to data governance
  • Ability to drive a flexible staffing model capable of reacting quickly to fluctuations in demand
  • Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, organization, prioritization, team-building, conflict management and time management skills
