Job Description
Cummins is seeking a talented Data Design Analys to support within our Manufacturing and Supply Chain domain with experience in data and analytics space with tools, technology, architecture and solution design. This position is based in Columbus,Indiana and offers the potential opportunity to work fully remote.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Implement and design data quality solutions for the data-based projects.
* Conduct proof of concepts for new services and technologies like data virtualization, big data-data quality.
* Understand business processes and translate them into enterprise data models
* Implement data modeling solutions using relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases
* Design bespoke databases using a mixture of conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
* Uses data analysis results at all levels to provide recommendations and designs solutions to improve data management processes, reduce data redundancy and resolve data issues.
* Understanding and knowledge about data security, masking and encryption.
* Communicate effectively the solutions built, gap fit wrt technology and needs
* Knowledge of the latest technologies and trends in data science is highly preferred and includes: SQL query language execution on NoSQL and SQL sources; Data profiling tools, technologies and coding; Data Catalog tools and technologies; Exposure to Agile Software development;Exposure to Big Data technologies;Business intelligence tools and technologies;Exposure to cloud-based implementation
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Experience in a relevant discipline is required, 5-7 years
* Experience in data and analytics space with tools, technology, architecture and solution design
* Hands on experience with structured data modelling tools like ErWIN or other similar
* Understanding about data quality, implementation experience and solutions delivery
* Experience with data governance tools
* Understanding and experience with cloud-based technologies in big data space wrt data based design and modelling
* Understanding of API’s and offering services via Integration technologies like mule soft etc.
* College, university or equivalent degree preferred or equivalent work experience in relevant technical discipline.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
