YOUR OPPORTUNITY

The Humane League is conducting novel research on targets, issues, technologies, and advocacy strategies that help the Corporate Engagement team gain information and perspective, evaluate strategies, make informed decisions, and effectively accomplish project goals toward THL’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food by influencing the policies of the world’s biggest companies. The fellow will conduct exploratory research projects and build and organize existing research in our data archive that will ultimately make an impact on the way THL motivates and engages with companies.

This is a short term, remote opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States and must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment-based visa status.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform research on one or more topics that will provide useful knowledge for corporate advocacy.
  • Gather valuable institutional knowledge from Corporate Engagement team members and convey this information in a useful way in our knowledge database.
  • Share information with Corporate Engagement staff in a way that allows CE to understand the implications and brainstorm what to do with the information.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written, reading, listening and nonverbal.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong capacity to take initiative, work independently, and follow through to execute on project ideas.
  • Willingness to take direction and embrace a collaborative spirit.
  • Basic online information gathering and research skills
  • Interest in corporate advocacy strategy.
  • Self motivated when information is difficult to find
  • You must be available for the entirety of the Fellowship term: June 12, 2023- September 1, 2023
  • You must be able to dedicate 16-20 hours a week to the fellowship. The exact hours expected will be agreed upon between the fellow and their supervisor.
  • Must be 18 years of age or over.

Fellows will be compensated with a $3,540 stipend with successful completion of project benchmarks and engagement in training. The Humane League does not provide health benefits to fellows.

This position will close on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 12:00pm ET.

The initial application review will happen after the application closing date above. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be notified via email with further details on the status of your application. If a candidate is moved forward, the interview process will be as follows:

  • Phone Interview (via phone call) – Starting the week of April 24th
  • Final Interview (via video call) – May 8th – May 26th
