Full-Time Copy Lead

Job Description

Job Summary

As copy lead at Ologie, you’ll draw on your solid agency experience, along with your passion for storytelling, as you flex your writing skill across mediums and styles — from punchy headlines to thoughtful long-form pieces.

You can handle multiple projects simultaneously, and you work well both individually and teamed up with other creatives. You write original copy from strategic insights, incorporate direction from your project leads, and revise deliverables to ensure the strongest work possible.

You’re a conceptual thinker who can bring ideas to life. You confidently pitch solutions with strong communication and presentation skills, supported by solid rationale. You collaborate closely with designers, strategists, and account leads to develop compelling, brand-aligned content that makes an impact.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Draw on a strong grasp of language, branding, and marketing to craft original and strategic copy deliverables, with a distinctive voice, across a variety of mediums (running the gamut from small digital ads to comprehensive copy playbooks).
  • Work effectively and collegially alongside other writers, our in-house editorial director, designers, and creative leads.
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve brand guidelines for multiple clients, focusing in particular on guidance for voice and tone.
  • Incorporate creative feedback in thoughtful, timely revisions that deliver on project objectives and exhibit a high level of craft.
  • Present work, including approach and rationale, both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to content strategy and creative brainstorming sessions, helping shape copy direction and narrative approach.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, storytelling techniques, and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of messages.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the objectives and scope of the role.

To be successful in this role, our preference is that you:

  • Have five or more years of experience, ideally in an agency or an in-house brand setting.
  • Bring exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a sharp eye for clarity, consistency, and detail.
  • Have expertise in brand voice and storytelling, with the ability to adapt tone and style to different audiences.
  • Be skilled at collaborating with designers, strategists, and account teams to develop compelling creative work that meets client goals.
  • Have experience presenting work to clients and internal stakeholders, articulating rationale and making adjustments based on feedback.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying deadlines and shifting priorities.

You’ll stand out to us if you:

  • Have experience working in marketing for higher education, health care, nonprofits, or other cause-driven fields.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Are proficient in Google Workspace (including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, and Meet).
