Full-Time Continuous Improvement Project Manager

The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for an experienced, dynamic, collaborative, forward-thinking Continuous Improvement Project Manager to join our team, reporting to the Director of Operations. As the Continuous Improvement Project Manager, you will solve problems and affect short-term and long-term organization goals through wing-to-wing delivery of process improvement projects and initiatives and performance reporting at an advanced level. The ideal candidate will be a truly passionate, change agent who can effectively motivate and influence operational improvements without direct authority, and partner with leaders to drive change and positively affect results.

*This is a remote position, but will require some onsite presence at our Washington, DC office, so applicants must be local*

You are responsible for:

Leading major process improvement projects and initiatives to make positive and quantifiable improvements across the organization
Applying Lean Six Sigma tools or other continuous improvement methodologies to complex business processes, and implements solutions which provide positive performance impacts
Interpreting customer needs and requirements, translating concepts into practice, identifying process improvement opportunities, and quantify results and trends
Creating and managing plans with identifiable critical paths, task dependencies, risk/issue mitigation processes and major milestones
Taking ownership in all project issues with a hands-on approach to root cause analysis and problem resolution 
Establishing, capturing, maintaining, assessing and reporting on metrics using dashboards for monitoring progress, achievements and performance results on organizational performance data and statistics 
Being deployed as a business partner into the departments to work alongside identified staff to design/shape Medium Term Plan metrics and Annual Planning strategies
Designing and maintaining an enterprise-wide core project tracker
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
 
Skills and Experience:

Must have proven success in process/performance improvement deployment strategies and driving continuous improvement 
Demonstrated track record of scoping and driving delivery of projects and achieving results independently on time and to budget including:
Strong analytical skills and project management technical skills
Project scope definition
Project issues, challenges, risks definition
Status reporting
Development of high quality deliverables
Great organization skills – ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize accordingly and make decisions as required
Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure and to provide practical solutions
Data driven and self motivated with the ability to work in project teams to help formulate the implications of a specific solution across the process, e.g. costs, risk, potential for re-use, etc.
Demonstrated excellent people management skills and ability to influence key stakeholders outside their direct control
Skilled in designing presentations that distill and communicate analytical and observational findings to stakeholders
Highly collaborative, motivated, team-oriented and strong consensus builder
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral
Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of professional experience 
5 years of project management experience with PMP or other project management certification

Proven ability to engage teams and drive change
Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional initiatives, programs or projects
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google suite tools
Experience with Airtable
 
Additionally, we’d love it if you have:

Master’s degree
Lean or Six Sigma Certification
PMP Certification
Experience in a customer-facing role
Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment
The ability to work in a fast-moving, highly-diverse grassroots environment, while effectively prioritizing and leading a variety of activities
Skilled personal use of creative, collaborative, and social platforms
Experience working with nonprofit organizations
Fluency or familiarity with languages in addition to English
Experience as a member of a volunteer community
