The role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Content Operations Manager to implement new content planning, workflow and permissions processes, supporting the organisation’s Content Strategy, as part of a major website launch. This role is focused on operational excellence, content planning, stakeholder management, and implementation. The role will stabilise post-launch operations and embed systems and workflows for sustainable, long-term content development and delivery.
This is a pivotal role in preparing for the launch of a new organisational website and ensuring its ongoing success.
You will work closely with colleagues across content, editorial, and programme management to coordinate timelines, optimise workflows, and ensure content is delivered effectively and aligned with organisational goals.
Key details:
- Contract: Full-time, 6-month fixed-term (PAYE)
- Location: Hybrid – mostly, home-based blended with working from offices in central London (1-2 days a week). Office is a short walk from Euston/Kings cross/Russell square stations
- Salary: £50,000 p.a. + benefits
- Start date: 22nd September 2025
- Must be available for interview on either: 21st August, morning of 27th August, or 29th August – conducted online, via Teams
As Content Operations Manager, you will:
- Lead the project management of content migration and priority landing pages for a new organisational website.
- Develop and maintain a shared content plan in collaboration with the Head of Content and wider team.
- Streamline content workflows, from creation to publication, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborate with editorial leads to coordinate tagging strategies and content delivery across platforms.
- Support the implementation of the organisation’s content strategy through centralised planning.
- Organise and manage user testing and research to inform site improvements and enhance user experience.
- Deliver guidance and training to internal stakeholders to support content engagement and best practices.
- Establish processes for permission clearance of images and text prior to publication.
- Monitor and analyse website performance, applying SEO and AI search best practices to optimise content.
- Ensure content adheres to brand tone and editorial style, and meets digital accessibility standards.
- Champion organisational values and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in content operations, including implementing editorial workflows and planning processes.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in both traditional and agile methodologies.
- High technical proficiency with content management systems and marketing automation tools.
- A data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse performance and make informed decisions.
- Experience in user testing and applying insights to improve content and user experience.
- Knowledge of SEO and AI search optimisation techniques.
- Familiarity with intellectual property rights and digital content clearance processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
