POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Content Associate, Elementary Math is a contract role that serves as part of PowerMyLearning’s Product Team and reports to the Director of Math. The Math Content Associate role will begin no later than July 2025. The anticipated weekly commitment is 10-25 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content development
- Support Director of Math, Elementary Math Content Writers, and contractors with organization and completion of content writing and revision
- Review and edit math content for grades PK-5
- Ensure new content meets quality standards, math content specifications, and design priorities
- Meet with Elementary Math Content Writers to review and approve new content
- Project management
- Design and implement content development workflows that ensure math content meet high quality standards
- Manage the use of manual translation tools and services for translation into multiple languages
- Manage the creation of graphics and other assets
- Partner with Director of Math to create and maintain content development schedules that reflect optimal workflows and meet project needs and objectives
- Anticipate and mitigate challenges that could impact content development workflow, quality, or deadlines.
- Content Management
- Input and maintain content in content management system
- Identify and resolve errors in content and track changes across versions of content
- Support the upkeep of documentation including style guides, content management processes. Provide training and support for Elementary Math Content Writers as needed.
- Collaboration
- Meet with the Director of Math weekly to collaborate on project management, content development and review, and
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in math education or relevant area
- At least 5 years experience, including both teaching math and writing or proofreading math content or curriculum
- Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards in K-8 math, including best practices for creating standards-based content
- Strong project management skills including ability to manage contract writers, track deadlines, and oversee QA processes
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and Kanban boards
- Excellent communication skills, especially providing synchronous and asynchronous feedback to contractors
- High level of comfort working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team
- Proficiency working with project management software, spreadsheets, ChatGPT, and GSuite
Preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood mathematics (pre-kindergarten and transitional kindergarten)
- Experience teaching diverse student populations
- Deep understanding of research-based supports for multilingual learners in math instruction
- Experience using Figma, Illustrator, or similar graphic design software
- Experience with content management platforms
