Visitor Experience

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cinemas Operations, the part-time position of Concessions Attendant will maintain a high standard of customer service at our concessions stand. The Concessions Attendant sells food and beverage while maintaining an accurate cash till and implementing our established Visitor Experience departmental service measures. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent customer service to the visitors at TIFF Bell Lightbox
  • Sell food and beverage at the concession stand
  • Sell alcoholic beverages while maintaining established TIFF alcohol sales protocol 
  • Operation of point-of-sale system to reconcile transactions and maintain an accurate cash till
  • Ensure cleanliness of food service and storage areas with adherence to food sanitation standards
  • Maintain knowledge of TIFF Bell Lightbox, its programming, events, and facilities.
  • Liaise with Concessions Stand Leads to execute concessions orders and presentation.  This includes preparing special orders for events
  • Arrive on-time for scheduled shifts, wearing approved uniform or dress code and prepared for shift
  • Other duties as assigned

RATE OF PAY:

  • $16.25/hourly

TARGET START DATE:

  • April 17, 2023

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to provide availability for at least three shifts per week (1 weekday, 1 weekend, 1 additional) for each week outside of the Festival
  • Must be available to work each day of the Toronto International Film Festival in September as well as each training day 
  • Must be adaptable to a flexible work schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must hold a valid Ontario Smart Serve certificate
  • Previous experience with food preparation is an asset
  • Previous experience with a point-of-sale system and cash handling is an asset
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • May be required to lift and carry items up to 35lbs
  • Able to communicate fluently in English; knowledge of a second language is an asset.
  • CPR and First Aid training are an asset
  • Interest in film, non-profits, arts and culture is considered an asset
