Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The Communications Intern supports the External Affairs Team on a broad range of initiatives and can expect a fast-paced, well-rounded experience in all aspects of communications.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation of communications experience (can include coursework and/or previous internships), including the ability to make simple website updates, create and implement communications-driven campaigns, track media hits, and more. They should also possess a strong work ethic; positive, can-do attitude; and commitment to collaboration and teamwork. An interest in international affairs, advocacy, and/or public diplomacy is an asset. Through this internship, we hope to support candidates seeking careers in communications, specifically in the nonprofit or international exchange field.

Finalist candidates will be required to take and pass a brief writing and editing test.

- Routine communications updates (ex. website, email campaigns, social media, database management)
- Publication production
- Advocacy and fundraising campaigns
- Event communications support
Qualifications
- Enrolled as a student during the internship period
- Background in communications, journalism, media, marketing, or related fields
- Desire to pursue a career in communications, public diplomacy, and/or international affairs
- Ability to pass a short writing and editing test
- Experience in writing and/or preparing content for websites, email, and social media
- Experience with graphic design (preferably Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva) and/or productivity software (MS Office, Google Drive, etc.) a plus
