About Carbon A List 

Carbon A List is a climate action instigator specialized in navigating the burgeoning opportunities for climate action, especially, but not limited to, the land sector. Our mission is to help clients and partners unlock climate action in a way that creates equity, transparency, and continuous improvement. Carbon A List offers strategic consulting, methodology development and design, and project development services to a wide range of climate-centric organizations.  

About the Grant 

We are leveraging our expertise and positioning to deliver on a $70 million U.S. Department of Agriculture Partnership for Climate Smart Commodities grant (“the Grant”). Serving as a collaboration between industry partners, the Grant is designed to develop end-to-end supply chain partnerships with the goal of both producing climate smart commodities and marketing them via brands and retailers to consumers.  

 

About the Position: 

The Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of communications campaigns to amplify Grant achievements and impacts. This role will be instrumental in shaping and disseminating the message from the Grant across various platforms, ensuring clarity, coherence, and resonance with our strategic goals.   

 

Your Daily Focus: 

  • Content Creation: Curate, write, and edit content with a focus on engaging narratives that align with our strategic goals and stakeholders. 
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Support coordination for our project teams and stakeholders to amplify our mission and initiatives across channels.  
  • Digital Presence: Regularly update our website with fresh content, optimize for SEO, and monitor user engagement to suggest improvements. 
  • Campaign Execution: Support communication campaigns from conception through execution, measuring effectiveness and adjusting strategies as needed. 
  • Visual Storytelling: Utilize design tools to create compelling graphics and presentations that communicate complex data and concepts with clarity and impact. 

 

Requirements and Evaluation Criteria: 

  • Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, complemented by 1-2 years of relevant experience (internships included). Alternatively, candidates with 3+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree are also encouraged to apply. 
  • Storytelling & Editing: Exceptional ability in crafting engaging content and an eye for grammatical precision. 
  • Project Coordination: Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects, preferably in the context of agriculture or sustainability. This means effectively managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables in a dynamic environment.  
  • Social Media Acumen: Demonstrated experience in managing and growing professional social media profiles with a knack for community engagement.  
  • Stakeholder Engagement Skills: The ability to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders, including farmers, processing partners, and market participants. This means being adept at understanding and addressing the diverse needs and perspectives of different groups and working to support them.   

 

Preference for the Following: 

  • Agricultural Industry Familiarity: Knowledge of or interest in agriculture and climate action is a significant plus, as it allows for more authentic and informed communication about our projects and goals.  
  • Design Savvy: Solid skills in design software and a portfolio that showcases your visual communication talents.
