Full-Time CNC Machining Technician Lead – 1st Shift – 210001DU
Job Description
We are looking for a talented CNC Machining Technician – 1st Shift to join our team in Ladson, SC at our Holset Palmetto Plant.
Responsibilities:
• The Machining Technician will be responsible for overseeing the reconditioning processes and direct the work of cell resources for all the Turbocharger components
• Assist in the ramp up of a new product line installation.
• Participate and lead training activities.
• Provide input to process improvement opportunities and coordinate projects as required.
• Lead shift meeting (start/end of shift). Direct the work of associates to meet daily operational targets
• Oversee training and corresponding documentation on the assigned processes.
• Monitor cell output collect downtime data and work to improve machine uptime and production output.
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects (A3s) as required.
• Champion teamwork and collaboration to drive operational targets.
• Initially may be required to travel for training (short term)
Successful candidates will have obtained the following skills and experiences:
• Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• Ability to diagnose/correct general machine problems. Ability to perform basic root cause analysis regarding product defects or machine errors (fishbones diagrams, 5-whys, etc). Escalate issues appropriately
• Working knowledge of measuring equipment including calipers, indicators, gauges
• Familiar with basic component layout, strong understanding of quality processes
• Familiar with quality systems, ISO, TS or similar. Familiarity with 6Sigma, Lean Manufacturing a plus
• PC Skills include MS Word, Excel and Email.
• Experience in machining with aptitude for CNC turning and grinding, working knowledge of tooling, technical drawings, general repair and maintenance
• Familiar with part print reading and basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Essential Job Requirements:
• Ability to lift and inspect 32lb Turbine housing. Inspection include top, bottom, flange, and all rounded edges.
• Must have enough visual acuity to read small gauges and measurements

• Fully proficient setting up and operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment to machine parts to specifications.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices, layout work and set up tool room machines to build or fabricate details and assemble as needed.
• Instructs and coaches others and acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
• Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
• Performs other duties as required to meet business goals.
• Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints
• Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements
• Solve problems and improve processes.
Teamwork
• Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.
• Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.
• Participates actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
Skills: Experience
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
