You do not need a background in search engine optimization (SEO); we will train you.

About Us
RankScience is a company originally founded through Y Combinator (YC), the startup accelerator behind Stripe, Airbnb, and Dropbox. We have helped hundreds of startups grow through search engine optimization (SEO), and now also offer Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Large Language Model Optimization (LLMO), and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) to help companies stay visible across search, AI, and answer engines.
As traditional search shifts toward AI-driven interfaces, the visibility strategies that worked five years ago will not cut it going forward. We are helping startups future-proof their growth by optimizing for how users interact with generative tools like ChatGPT and answer engines, not just Google.
Our clients are primarily early-stage startups, including many YC companies. They rely on us to improve their discoverability, traffic, and long-term growth. On average, our clients see 40 to 60 percent increases in organic traffic within six months and benefit from a client retention rate of over 85 percent.

What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary point of contact for 10 to 15 client accounts over time
- Manage communication via Zoom, Slack, and email
- Coordinate deliverables with internal team and freelance contributors
- Own client timelines, deliverables, and satisfaction
- Monitor account health and retention, and help surface upsell opportunities
You will be given tools, training, and support to succeed, even without prior SEO experience.
This role can grow into a senior account manager or team leadership position as we scale.
About You / Experience
- A few years of experience in account management, customer success, or client services (typically 2 to 5 years)
- Ambitious self-starter who works independently and takes ownership without needing close supervision
- Skilled communicator; you write clear, professional emails and lead client conversations with confidence, even under pressure
- Organized and detail-oriented; you keep projects on track and people informed
- Comfortable working remotely with a lean, fast-paced team
- You value working in a queer-led, inclusive company and bring empathy, allyship, or lived experience supporting diverse communities
Bonus if you:
- Have worked with startups or early-stage founders
- Have experience supporting marketing or digital agency teams
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: 65,000 to 80,000 USD, depending on experience and location
Compensation is based on experience, location, and how closely your background aligns with our client needs - Remote role, open to candidates based in the U.S. or Canada
