Job Description

Purpose of the Role  

The Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund (CDAF) Intern supports the planning and implementation of the CDAF program, a small grants program that supports alumni of U.S. government exchange programs. This includes project support, application evaluation, report writing and editing, budget and contract review, webinar design and implementation, and other administrative tasks. The CDAF Intern works closely with the CDAF Program Manager and may also support other Global Ties U.S. staff when needed.  

This internship is geared toward candidates seeking a career in international education or educational program management. The ideal candidate should possess relevant experience (as listed below), be meticulous in their attention to detail, and be comfortable using (or learning to use) virtual meeting platforms, databases, and budget management platforms.

Core Responsibilities   

  • Assisting in developing content for CDAF grantees 
  • Assisting with webinars highlighting the CDAF grant
  • Writing and editing reports
  • Reviewing applications and budgets

Qualifications

  •  Enrolled as a student during the internship period  
  • Background in public administration, business administration, international education, exchange programming, social science, or related fields  
  • Desire to pursue a career in project management, grants management, public diplomacy, and/or international affairs  
  • Prior knowledge of U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs or experience with alumni associations is preferred
  • Previous knowledge of grants management is preferred
  • Experience working with budgets and financial documents
  • Interest in developing online content (e.g.webinars, tool kits, how to guides)  
  • Strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills 
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting software (e.g. Zoom Webinars) 
  • Experience in other platforms such as Submittable, Bill.com, and Salesforce is a plus 
  • Ability to pass a short writing and editing test
