Location: 22 Adelaide Street West, Toronto (currently working remotely but will need to commute to the office when it reopens)

Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for leading marketing and publicity for an exciting list of children’s and YA titles in Canada, from picture books to YA fantasy. As publicist, you will work closely with key authors, accounts and international teams to ensure strong presences for HarperCollins titles in Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Primary marketing contact for all accounts on Children’s product (40%)
o Oversees marketing plans for all Children’s & YA titles (cross-division)
o Liaises with all Sales, Marketing and Publicity teams including HCUK, HCUS, USBORNE, HCC and Farshore
o Coordinates the development of marketing materials with in-house designers
· Lead Publicist for all children’s authors (40%)
o Works with Publicity Director to coordinate publicity strategy for kids titles including events, mailings and media pitches
o Plans media tours, festival activity and author events
o Liases with international sales teams to secure time with Canadian media and events
· Works with Indigo on seasonal events, promotions and special product sales (5%)
o Participates in pitch meetings to buyers at national accounts
· Seeks and develops relationships with new and current partners (5%)
· Coordinates Kids Point of Sale creation and distribution (10%)

Qualifications:
Specific training or job experience required includes:
· 3-5 years Publishing experience
· 1-3 years Publicity experience
· Book publishing courses or certificate an asset
· Strong knowledge of the Canadian Children’s book market
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Extremely well organized
· Campaign management and coordination
· A valid Driver’s License is an asset
