Full-Time Campaigns Coordinator

Job Description

Founded in 1936, the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) is America’s largest and most trusted grassroots conservation organization with 53 state and territorial affiliates and more than six million members and supporters, including hunters, anglers, gardeners, birders, hikers, campers, paddlers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all stripes. Our mission is to unite all Americans to ensure wildlife thrive in our rapidly changing world through programming focused on conserving wildlife, restoring habitats and waterways, expanding outdoor opportunities, connecting children with nature, and addressing the causes and consequences of climate change.

To help us rise to this challenge, we are seeking a Campaigns Coordinator to join our national Campaigns Team. The Campaigns Team mobilizes action at the local level (in the “field”) to advance national policy priorities; grows civic and political power in targeted states; and builds long-term organizational infrastructure and leadership for change that will improve the resilience of wildlife and communities. The Campaigns Coordinator will provide administrative and strategic support; help cultivate and deepen NWF’s engagement with activists, volunteers, and partners in-person and online; and support national staff and state-based field organizers working with NWF on particular national policy campaigns and movement-building priorities, such as efforts to combat climate change, protect public lands and water resources, restore wildlife and habitat, and advance environmental justice.

This position is based at NWF’s National Advocacy Center in Washington, DC, however it can be remote.  We provide the tools and technology support so that you can work from almost anywhere. We encourage working in spaces that help you generate ideas and support your well-being while working.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Compiling and maintaining online “toolkits” with resources to help organizers and activists generate media, mobilize community leaders and stakeholders, and engage with elected and appointed officials in their home states and districts;
  • Providing logistical support for (in-person/virtual) meetings, lobby days, hearings, other events;
  • Creating public education and outreach materials, including flyers, posters, stickers, t-shirts, social media graphics, blog posts, and other shareable digital and physical advocacy content;
  • Scheduling meetings, managing campaign list-serves, taking notes and tracking action-items;
  • Organizing and participating in DC-area and field events, rallies, public hearings, town halls, g.;
  • Updating orientation materials and onboarding new organizing partners and outreach consultants;
  • Tracking field organizing and campaign activities and metrics using our QuickBase, Airtable and Tableau database systems; ensure that field organizers, consultants, and partners are properly reporting campaign activities and information;
  • Curating comprehensive reports of Campaign and Field activities regularly for internal distribution, reporting to funders, and for sharing with policymakers and staff;
  • Processing and tracking grants, contracts, invoices, and expense reimbursements;
  • Leveraging data resources and technology to improve the Campaigns team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

  Qualities we’re looking for include:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; strength in interacting with persons of various social, cultural, economic, political, and educational backgrounds.
  • Capable of representing and bolstering marginalized voices in advocacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on a team and also follow through on assigned tasks independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Zoom.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Engaging Networks, CongressPlus, QuickBase, Airtable, Canva, and/or other database or web content management platforms.
  • Experience with issue advocacy, community organizing, or social media marketing a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $45,000 – $50,000 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience.
