Part-Time CAC Community Educator (PT) – Child Advocacy Center
Job Description
EAC Network seeks a part-time Child Advocacy Center (CAC) Community Educator for the Child Advocacy Center Program, located in Central Islip, NY. The position is part time, up to 5 hours per week.
Primary Purpose of Job:
The Part-Time CAC Educator is responsible for providing child abuse prevention training’s to gymnastic clubs throughout the Long Island region to prevent child sexual abuse in the sport of gymnastics and keep gymnasts safe.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in a mandatory virtual training offered through the New York Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Children on Tuesday, 11/10/2020 from 10 AM – 1 PM and Tuesday, 11/17/2020 from 10 AM – 1 PM to successfully become trained as NYSPCC-certified Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Trainer.
- Learn and fully comprehend the material presented at the mandatory training to ensure delivery of an effective presentation to target audiences.
- Conduct outreach to the various gymnastics facilities to offer and schedule stated training.
- Travel to registered gymnastic facilities in the Long Island region and provide required staff with the 90 minute training and support to implement best practices in child protection.
- Complete data collection tool after each training conducted and submit to Supervisor.
- Commit to a minimum of providing one facilitated training per week, beginning in early 2021.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Associates degree in a related field required, Bachelors preferred.
- Knowledge of Child Abuse, Child Sexual Abuse and reporting requirements preferred.
- Excellent presentation skills, experience providing presentations a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish capability preferred.
- Evening and weekend end flexibility required.
- Must have NYS drivers license and access to an automobile
