JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Develops in C / C++ for an enterprise mortgage analytics software application. This position is in support of Black Knight’s Behavioral Model Products and requires the candidates to demonstrate technical knowledge of C / C++ based applications professionally or in school. The C++ Software Developer I will have full responsibilities in the full life cyc le development.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies C++ software enhancements and/or new products.
* Designs, codes, tests and debugs API’s and other customer facing applications; provides beta support which may require research and analysis.
* Writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications using C++ or other current programming languages and technologies.
* Meets technical release objectives and works with product team to flush out and define shifting priorities and requirements.
* Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
* Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
* Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
* Performs additional related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES
* A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience that is required for the specific job level.
* Master’s degree is preferred.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Experience with C++ (2+ years desired not required)
* Understanding of Data analytics, mathematics and statistics highly desired
* Knowledge of financial services industry or mortgage analytics space a plus
* Familiarity with Linux a plus
* Familiarity with SQL database and/or understanding of database concepts a plus
* Experience with Intex deal library and third party integration a plus
* Familiarity with other languages such as C#, .Net Core, Java, Visual Studio, Python, Scala, SQL, and/or R a plus
* Ability to translate business needs into technical needs
* In-depth understanding of design patterns and their application
* Fluency in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, etc.
* Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
* Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
* Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
* Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts

Software Engineer I
Entry-level role. Proficient in at least one higher-level programming language and at least one systems development life cycle model. Develops and prepares less complex computer programs. May assist in the design and preparation of all levels of logic flow charts, preparation of test data, testing and debugging programs, and preparation of documentation of all procedures used throughout the system. Competent to work on several phases of programming with only general direction, but requires some instruction and guidance for other phases. Typically requires up to three (3) years of software engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
