JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Consumes business requirements and translates them into solutions for the Originations Technologies division. Serves as a liaison between the business community and the information technology organization from project inception through implementation in order to provide customer-centric solutions that solve business needs.

G ENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serves as the primary liaison between the business community (Client and Product Development) and the application development organization
• Collaborates with business partners to ensure business requirements and user stories are clear and achievable
• Analyzes in-scope requirements to determine areas of opportunity to leverage configuration or automation
• Facilitates design meetings with key stakeholders to review business/project requirements and devises solutions to meet business and technical needs
• Produces Functional Design documentation (FDS) to support development of new technology, modifications to existing technology as well as client customizations
• Facilitates review meetings
• Conducts data mapping and related analysis in support of assigned work items
• Provides Dev and QA support to ensure solutions are developed and tested as per design
• Performs BSA Functional Testing upon code completion to ensure the developed solution meets design/end user expectations
• Researches and provides feedback regarding system functionality as appropriate
• Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Business Analysis experience in the Banking/Mortgage Lending industry (Retail, HE, Assumption, Correspondent, Wholesale) is highly preferred
• Project Implementation/SDLC experience is highly preferred
• API experience is a plus
• Experience working on integrations is highly desired
• Experience writing Functional Design Specifications (FDS) is highly preferred
• Experience with use cases and user stories in a technology setting is preferred
• Empower and/or other LOS experience is preferred but not required

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of the mortgage and home equity industry and related processes is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical and non-technical information to any audience
• Working knowledge of systems development life cycles i.e. Waterfall, Prototyping, Iterative, Agile, etc. is preferred
• Ability to design solutions and solve technical requirements by leveraging appropriate tools and techniques
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to research ideas and present outcomes in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to gain collaborative feedback and recommend the most effective solution
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders to ensure project success and client satisfaction
• Demonstrated team player with the ability to drive projects to a successful outcome
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
• Knowledge of BK products, services and capabilities is preferred but not required

Business Systems Analyst II

Intermediate professional level role. Possesses an understanding of business functions they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities and uses this knowledge to create solutions to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge. Possesses knowledge of the principles, processes, phases and roles of application development methodology. With limited mentoring support, works as a liaison between IT and our clients and stakeholders in order to provide technical/business solutions to meet user needs. Supports several moderately complex business processes and has ability to adapt to changing priorities. Creates business/technical process designs and documentation as needed for new technology and estimates time and duration of required changes. Translates simple to intermediate high-level business/technical requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization an d works with development to test and implement those changes. Completes project work within the established time frame, budget and quality requirements. Communicates effectively and timely with clients and stakeholders and brings attention to any issues that are of concern or pose a risk to the project deliverables or overall timeline. Demonstrates an informed knowledge of a business area to resolve problems. Works on multiple projects as a project team member, and occasionally as a project team leader. May mentor entry-level analysts on processes or business/technical functions. Typically requires four (4) years of relevant work experience.
