POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Process Analyst (BPA) is a change champion role responsible for creating, analyzing and updating business process models. The position will partner with the business and EIS to ensure all process maps and standard operation procedure (SOP) documentation is maintained and kept complete and accurate. This role will also support process improvement projects as time permits and serve as consultant to the SQA Team on testing software in context of our business processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for partnering with the business in mapping/documenting business processes ensuring process models are complete, accurate and maintained.
Act as the liaison between the enterprise architects, the business and the development team as needed to provide clarity with business processes.
Identify and implement improvements to existing processes to improve business performance
Track and report on enhancement requests and development efforts to provide visibility to senior management on timeline for expected changes/improvements
Partner with department management to evaluate and make recommendations to update department process maps and standard operating procedures to improve productivity
Assists Sr Management in developing and executing process improvement strategies
Conduct quantitative analysis to understand process performance identifying areas of inefficiency.
Develop processes and documentation for the Business Analysts as required within the project lifecycle.
Support Process Improvement Workshops as required leveraging the applicable Lean tools
Partner with leadership in creating a top down / bottom up view of our corporate vision to strategy to the BPM artifacts.
Further develop BPM toolset and associated methodologies to assist our business in addressing areas of inefficiency ensuring the successful execution of company strategies.
In partnership with leadership and EPMO establish process related polices, standards, governance and methodologies to enable the business to adopt a process improvement culture
Establish on-going feedback and improvement loops to ensure operational processes are evolved with the customer value perspective.
Communicate process recommendations through formal presentations, interactive discussions or small focus groups.
Influence leadership to buy in to process recommendations and to champion those changes.
Business process repository administration
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to self-start, work independently, and work well within a team.
Excellent writing and presentation skills to develop briefings, documents, and conceptual and analytical reports for stakeholders and executive management.
High level of self-awareness and receptiveness to feedback required
Proven ability to analyze, design, and model business processes
Proven ability to develop business process methodology toolbox
Ability to establish and govern business process towards excellence performance
Ability to establish rules for proper business management
Ability to benchmark and analyze various business processes
Understanding of APQC Process Classification Framework
Experience and Training:
Any combination of the following experience and training (designated as required and/or preferred) that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
Experience:
5-7 years Business Process Management and modelling experience
3-5 years’ experience creating standard operating procedure guides
Business analysis experience a plus
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification or related experience
Licensure / Certification:
The following are preferred but not required:
Lean/Six Sigma Certification
BPM Certification (AIIM BPM Certificate, Certification from BPMInstitute.org, ABPMP’s Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP®)).
BA Certification (CBAP/CCBA, BCS BA Certification, PMI-PBA).
