This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for a Business Analyst – Master Data Management.

You will be working with a forward-thinking, collaborative leader in a driven team and manage senior stakeholder relationships across the wider business. In this role you will design and implement data management processes and solutions for our business partners across corporate functions, advanced analytics, digital products team and demonstrate an innovative, creative mindset.

Enterprise Data management is a team that works for various functions within Cummins to manage the enterprise scale business data sets and processes. We invest heavily in technical excellence through our horizontal teams in the data space. We are tasked with making it easier to work with enterprise data and making impact for all transactional and edge systems that engage with us. As a Business Analyst, you will help the Master Data team under enterprise data management and analytics to work on process definition, solution architecture, Data Engineering, and Reporting and Analytics technologies that empower our partners in these areas. You will lead the program efforts, in conjunction with the business to define and document what constitutes business success for large or complex initiatives within the data management organization with focus on master data management and data quality.

Behind most enterprise data solution’s, we have implemented or in process of implementing the Informatica’s Data platform. Our focus is on various business data sets like Products and Items of the Company, Suppliers and Customers. We work passionately to fix & improve the data quality and governance processes which are integral to our success.

Additional details of the role include following tasks:

Partner with business functions to define, determine, analyze, document and communicate the objectives, business requirements and priorities for information systems and solutions; work with application and technical experts on the solution design, implementation, support, maintenance and enhancement of the information systems.

Lead the effort, in conjunction with the business to define and document what constitutes business success for large or complex initiatives within a single organization. May work as part of a team on project definition and documentation for initiatives that cross organizations.

Lead a group of analysts to elicit, analyze, and document functional requirements across the five aspects (process, information, event, socio-political, and location), as appropriate for the complex initiative.

Elicit, analyze, and document non-functional business requirements

Lead and conduct requirements management activities, as necessary. Seek out and analyze information regarding the impact of changes within an organization or between organizations, ensuring that the effects of changes are well understood and approved by all of the appropriate stakeholders.

Lead and conduct solution assessment and validation to ensure that functional and technical specifications meet the identified business needs within the organization or across organizations

Review test plans and testing methodology to mitigate risks and participates in testing the solution to ensure the solution meets functional and non-functional requirements within the organization or across organizations

Conduct complex problem analysis and resolution as needed. Acts as a point of escalation for complex, non-routine problems.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with both business leaders and other functions involved in downstream technical processes

Coach and mentor less experienced business analysts

Informatica Master Data Platform project experience with C360, S360, P360 and Data Quality components.

Certification in data management tools will be preferred.

Understanding of Agile SAFE processes will be a plus, certification will be preferred.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.

Experience

Significant level of relevant work experience, including supervisory experience, required. Broad business knowledge required. Experience required in following categories:

Owning Information Management Business requirements and functional specifications.

Expertise of Master Data Management (MDM) applications.

Ability to manage the stakeholder’s and engagement at various levels.

Experience and accountable to map requirements with MDM/DQ software capability/functionality

Bring information management best practices and recommendation options

To be able to own High level Fit/Gap document & validate and approve technical design & development

Able to support test planning and executions along with QAs

Participate in data governance to ensure, Enterprise and cross BU synergies

Develop, Manage and Mentor Staff consisting of other junior Business Analysts.

Production Support for critical issues & Vendor Service Requests

Ensure quality of deliverable by taking end-to-end accountability including testing and ongoing production quality assurance.
