Job Description

“This role is currently work-from-home and will move to the office environment after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.”

Job Description: The primary role of the Contract Associate is working on routine manufacturing assignments detailed in written procedures and batch records, where adherence with cGMP regulations and safety is required

Shifts: 12 hr rotating shift, hours 6a-6p but could change as needed by business includes regular holiday and weekend work

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Media and buffer preparation including checking of raw materials.
2. Assembly, cleaning, and steaming of process equipment.
3. Monitoring of processes and utilities.
4. Operation of control systems and processes supporting manufacturing operations.
5. Completion of training requirements including training for proficiency in the operation of primary production equipment and process automation systems.
6. Maintains processing area in a clean and orderly fashion.
7. Train personnel (Completion of Qualified Trainer training unit is required prior to training personnel).
8. Serve as designee as directed when training and qualifications are appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, etc:
Candidate must have demonstrated good troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Candidate must be proficient in common computer tools such as word processing, spreadsheet, and web based applications. The nature of the position demands keen attention to detail. Candidate must display good interpersonal skills, be attentive and approachable. A professional and productive relationship with area management and peers is required. Position involves working rotating shift, weekends ,holiday and overtime may be required.

Education/Experience/ Licenses/Certifications:
Knowledge of science generally attained through studies resulting in a BS degree in science, engineering, biochemistry, related discipline, or equivalent through experience gained in a related technical field

Physical Demands:
This position will is located a medium scale manufacturing facility with classified areas requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This role will require contact with hazardous materials such as caustic, acids and steam. Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing and reaching is required. Role also requires infrequent unassisted lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs). Repetitive use of arms/hand/wrists, grasping is also required. This position is a team based position that requires rotating shift work, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Work Environment:
The work environment involves activities in a medium scale manufacturing facility, lab space and office space. The environment includes limited exposure to noise ( > 85 dBA), hazardous chemicals and equipment temperature extremes.
