Job Description

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Battery Life Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our New Power Business Segment in the Columbus, IN market or hybrid/remote possibilities.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Lead System modeling and analysis of battery life.
• Lead development of battery life models in support of both new product development and current product issue resolution.
• Lead efforts on understanding battery life degradation mechanisms and model responses to various factors.
• Work closely with R&T team in development of test plans for experimental validation in line with model development and improvements.
• Work closely with the customer field data (telematics) to understand real world battery use and aging mechanisms
• Work with external industry and research establishments to keep track of the latest advances in battery technology and modeling techniques

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required
• 7-10+ years of Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making
• Expert MATLAB modeling skills required and possibly knowledge of other modeling tools/software
• General understanding of battery systems and different interactions such: interactions with drive systems, interactions with brakes, etc.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
