Job Description
Candidate must hold an earned doctorate in Public Health, Behavioral Health, Health Education/Health Promotion or a closely related field. ABDs will be considered during the application process, but the doctorate must be awarded before employment begins. The successful candidate will need the academic preparation or professional experience to effectively teach graduate courses including, but not limited to: Foundations of Health Education, Theories of Health Behavior, Research Methods in Public Health, Health Program Planning and Evaluation, and Epidemiology. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with program, department, college, and university faculty and staff. Applicants should demonstrate potential in producing scholarly works. Preference will be given to those who have a CHES/MCHES. Understanding of or experience with the CEPH accreditation process is also highly desirable.
Primary responsibilities include teaching, advising, and supervising student research in the Master of Public Health program. Additional responsibilities may include teaching and advising in the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Health Education programs. All Public Health and Public Health Education programs are fully online. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a campus presence as part of the Department of Health and Kinesiology faculty. Additionally, the successful candidate will lead and participate in state, local, and university service initiatives. This may include participation on university curricular and other operational committees. The successful candidate will also support the program initiative to obtain CEPH accreditation.
