Overall Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing the brand and developing Jamieson’s product portfolio and presence in Costco globally. Reporting to the Director, Global Costco & US and working closely with the Senior Key Account Manager for Costco Canada and Director Costco International Worldwide Sales, the Assistant Marketing Manager – Global Costco will play a key role in supporting the development of customer specific product strategies, and marketing activations and is expected to support profit and revenue growth through new product development and commercialization, member insight development and marketing activations in-club and for e-commerce.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties
• Support in cross functional management of Costco specific portfolio planning and execution including product proposal development, new product innovation, renovation management, and commercialization for Jamieson branded products.
• Work closely with the Director, Costco Global in the development and implementation of a Costco global strategy, across Jamieson and Kirkland Signature products, and brand portfolio plans.
• Maximize long term sales and profitability within the context of approved customer strategies
o Lead pricing strategy for global Costco product introductions and managing pricing slopes with existing portfolio
o Build Jamieson’s presence on Costco e-commerce sites internationally
o Assist in category development initiatives with the customer
o Maximize effectiveness of in-store and on-line promotional activations
• Support sales leads in working with the Costco team member(s) on marketing activations, portfolio optimization, renovations, product launches/ tests and member focused inquiries.
• Lead regular brand, competitive and market reviews to optimize business unit strategies for both the short- and long-term via store checks, annual audits, category & market reviews leveraging multiple external data sources and regular interface with the brand teams, resulting in actionable recommendations.
• Work closely across functions, including sales, project management, regulatory, purchasing and studio to plan and execute regular updates to member-facing assets: label artwork, trays, skirts, on-line content, advertising, and product portfolio management.
• Develop a deep understanding of the Costco Member, market-specific consumer trends & behaviours and applying relevant market facts to inform actionable plans delivering long term growth with this customer
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements
• University Business Degree, MBA an asset
• Two to Three (2-3) years marketing, project management, category development or account management experience within a consumer packaged goods environment and strong interest in the health and wellness industry
• Strong business acumen and passion for delivering results and continuous improvement.
• A highly collaborative team player who can inspire and lead within a cross-functional team
• Excellent time management skills (ability to multitask and manage deadlines and multiple stakeholder demands) with a strong sense of urgency and achievement
• Strong communication, conflict resolution and analytical skills
• An entrepreneurial and creative spirit with the ability to deliver solutions if process is absent
• Experience with a global organization and/or international experience an asset
• Willingness to travel.
