Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Educational Psychology

The Department of Educational Psychology has a one-year full time contract position at the rank of Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor available August 2021 – and ending in Mary 2022. Primary responsibilities will include teaching courses and supervising students in the M.A. program in School Counseling. Additional duties include assisting the Program Director with administrative activities for the School Counseling program and possibly teaching other classes within the department. Candidates should be willing to teach on campus at Ball State University as well as online.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching load includes 12 credit hours of courses each academic semester. There are no research expectations. Faculty are expected to attend departmental and School Counseling core meetings. Faculty members are expected to provide support in the form of field experience supervision. To provide supervision, successful candidates must possess or demonstrate eligibility for a Professional School Counseling license in the State of Indiana.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in School Counseling or a related field completed by date of appointment from an accredited college or university. Must have or obtain an Indiana School Counseling License prior to the start of the fall semester.

 

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Counselor Education or a related field with an emphasis in professional school counseling from an accredited institution by the date of appointment. University teaching experience. Experience providing field experience supervision to counselors in training. Experience working as a professional school counselor in elementary, middle, or high school setting. Experience with the CACREP accreditation process and student learning outcomes model.
