Would you like to share your passion for gymnastics with local youth? As a After School Gymnastics Instructor, you will work with our Expanded Learning Opportunities program at varying school locations providing direct leadership, instruction and motivation for children of elementary school ages teaching gymnastics skills and progression. You will prepare lesson plans with a natural progression appropriate to the age and ability of the student. Provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Some additional duties will include;
- Outline class lesson plans to keep children moving
- Set up and tear down of portable equipment for each class
- Enforce all safety rules and regulations
- Finish each class with a fun group activity
- Six months or more of experience teaching gymnastics and/or personal gymnastics experience preferred.
- Positive attitude and previous experience with children of all ages and diverse populations.
- Knowledge and skills in program activities and related gymnastics and office equipment set-up, and the ability to instruct participants in age appropriate techniques.
- Preferred: Knowledge and skills to instruct gymnastics.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other online or in-person training as required.
Starting Wage: $17.00+ per hour – depending on experience
Hours: Part-Time, up to 25 hours per week
