Part-Time Administrative Support and Community Outreach Assistant
Job Description
Based in Sonoma County, Northern California Public Media (NorCal) serves the San Francisco region through two public television stations, KRCB and KPJK, and one public radio station, KRCB FM. As one of the very few community-owned and operated media entities serving the region, NorCal offers PBS, NPR and Independent Public Broadcasting programming. Our mission is to be a trusted, independent, and essential voice that heightens awareness of the diversity of the human experience, reports on issues of importance, and convenes public discussion to strengthen our community.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide administrative support to the CEO and COO by conducting research, preparing reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. In addition, this position will assist with developing and maintaining community outreach relationships and events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage daily calendar and email correspondence in support of CEO, COO
• Act as the point of contact between senior management, staff, and community organizations
• Make travel, meeting and event arrangements as needed
• Coordinate meetings and conference calls
• Assist in all aspects of events and event planning
• Assist with preparation and submission of grant applications and reports, as needed
• Handle requests and queries appropriately
• NorCal representative and liaison to community organizations as assigned
• Oversee portions of NorCal website relating to compliance responsibilities
• Keep current on Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) Public File and other CPB/CSG qualifying criteria
• Assist in the preparation of staff meetings; prepare meeting materials, organize virtual setup, and take meeting minutes; transcribe and distribute meeting minutes and recordings as appropriate
• Trusted with handling sensitive information and upholding confidentiality
• Assist with security protocols, alarm system, and employee compliance
• Performs other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of three years related experience or equivalent
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. Frequent operation of computer and other office equipment, the ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time,
stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The employee works in an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Occasional travel may be required.
WHAT WE OFFER
This is a part-time, 20-hr per week, non-exempt, hourly position, at $19.50 per hour. Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, 403B, paid vacation and holidays, floating holidays, diversity training programs, and mental health resources.
