About the position
The role of the Accounts Payable involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. The role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
Key Responsibilities
• Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process, including processing invoices for payment, recording sales tax, assisting with bank reconciliations, and documenting loans.
• Research information to provide accurate and timely solutions to internal clients and vendors at multiple locations.
• Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used.
• Generate payments to vendors on a routine schedule and match the check with backup for review by the financial manager.
• Inspect paid and unpaid invoices including cleared payment inquiries and check voiding to maintain accurate files and records according to company standards.
• Review automatic payments to ensure correct coding and authorization, as well as sufficient contracts and documentation.
• Develop and maintain a filing system for financial information, records, and documents to ensure easily available information.
• Monitor account balances, track expenses, prepare analyses of accounts and related financial activity to produce monthly financial reports.
Experience and Qualifications
• 2 – 3 years of Accounts Payable experience required.
• Ability to work independently, following general department policies and procedures
• Must have the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Proven problem solving skills and ability to work ethically following Accounting and Finance principles
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required
• Basic data entry skills required
• Must have understanding of, and a comfortability with math and calculations
• Good listening skills needed with the ability to follow through on tasks with understanding of given direction
• Attention to detail skills required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands and fingers to pick, pinch, type and/or work utilizing hands and fingers. Employee is required to have the ability to understand and use the spoken word in English to communicate both verbally and in writing.
The worker may be exposed to exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Primarily sedentary work involving sitting or standing at workstation should be expected.
The employee must have the ability to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
The employee should expect to have an inside work environment with conditions that may be subject to indoor temperature changes.
