Full-Time Accounting Technician – Entry Level!
Job Description
- Approve invoices related to NCDOT corporate credit card (P-card) invoices.
- Audit scanned backup documentation to ensure correct information is attached and correctly entered into our accounting system.
- Assist staff with questions/problems processing documents.
- Regularly communicate with field staff to ensure invoices meet NCDOT policies/procedures.
- Knowledge and experience with SAP or other accounting systems.
- Knowledge and experience of accounting methods, procedures, and accounting practices, specifically auditing experience in Accounts Payable.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel!
- Knowledge of government accounting methods, procedures, and financial practices.
- Experience understanding, interpreting, and applying laws related to financial records.
- High School/GED diploma with courses in bookkeeping/accounting, and
- 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience. (Note: Completion of a 1-year business course in a business school including or supplemented by courses in bookkeeping/accounting may be substituted for required experience.)
