Job Description
Job Summary
Performs a variety of tasks in support of Public Health Finance Team. Provides high level professional accounting expertise to the maintenance and control of complex fiscal records, reports, and systems. Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, preparing forecasts and financial accounting research and interpretations within the designated County department. Must be able to relate principles and practices to the resolution of situations. May provide training to lower-level staff.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a financial or administrative discipline and at least one year of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably within the public sector.
Demonstrable, advanced excel skills and intermediate access skills required. Smartsheet skills a plus.
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

Knowledge of: Contemporary principles and techniques of public finance, organizational planning and development, and administrative and quantitative analysis; program development and/or evaluation; research methods and information sources related to public administration; relevant computer-based systems and applications; pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
Knowledge of: Key components of cultural competency; awareness of differences, attitude to examine beliefs and values, knowledge of differences and skills to effectively and appropriately work across cultures.
Ability to: perform problem solving; develop and utilize a variety of computer applications including spreadsheets, databases and other application-specific software; participate in a variety of audit/financial, activities; develop and make presentations and communicate orally; interpret, apply, and explain Federal, State and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of working including County and other government officials and employees and the general public.

Salary Grade: M3.600 ($24.80 – $31.69) per hour
