The Account Manager will be responsible for generating and growing polyethylene sales at assigned accounts by providing product knowledge, value adding services, and expertise. This critical Sales Team member will provide a strong focus on value in use selling, through the ability to communicate attributes, benefits and value drivers of our products and full slate of value adding service offerings. The successful candidate will work as part of a Sales Team and closely with other cross functional team members (marketing, technical service, customer service, logistic, finance, etc.) to deliver results. This role may or may not be a part of a Market Focus team.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- Negotiate annual and multi-year contracts for a multitude of business organizations (private and public) apply knowledge and understand the value in use principles while driving toward mutual success.
- Proactively identify and accurately describe business opportunities and threats based on business intelligence/market dynamics while initiating action to address them internally.
- Make timely submissions of high quality reports to key stakeholders including recommendations for growing high-value business.
What We Are Looking For:
University graduate with 8+ years related experience, with a minimum of 3 years of customer-interfacing and/or selling experience and continued professional development OR 12+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience, with a minimum of 3 years customer-interfacing and/or selling experience and continued professional development.
- Strong technical aptitude required, science &/or engineering education/training/experience preferred (Chemistry, Polymer Science, Engineering, etc.).
- Strong financial aptitude also a must with some formal financial training or education preferred (finance, business management, etc.)
- Specific experience in polyethylene sales and/or commodity or specialty chemical sales (plastics/polymers, additives, metals, other commodities) preferred
- Knowledge of the pipe, conduit, and thin wall injection molding markets considered an asset
- Understands how to deploy NOVA’s products and services to meet the needs and challenges of convertors and OEM’s
- Well versed and has a track record of success in implementing sales processes to include reporting, collaborating, value selling, market interface excellence, new product development
- Curious and driven mindset. Has energy to learn and develop across a number of capacities
- Self-starter with a positive attitude
- Professional and polished communication skills—both written (reporting) and verbal (presentations)
- Ability to work independently and deliver strong contributions without constant oversight
- Excellent people skills with ability to develop deep relationships quickly at different levels within large, complex organizational structures of key accounts
- Ability to mobilize internal resources to support diverse customer development needs

Additional Notes:
This role requires travel (50%+), mostly domestic USA and Canada
