Location: CONSERVATORY GREEN,  Near Northeast Denver

Work Year: Traditional 245 work days per year – CWOA

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Summer hours 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Salary Range: Starting at $17.16 per hour

Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

Supports operations through practical application of knowledge, use of proven techniques, and adherence to procedures. Primary focus on execution of assigned tasks in a specific area of responsibility, with a technical emphasis; such as; equipment, machinery, or scientific/chemical.

 

Supervises the repair and maintenance of a larger elementary facility, systems and grounds with consideration to staff and student security and safety so that the facility is operational.

 

– Performs hands-on tasks applying proven industry standards and techniques, while adherence to policies, procedures, or guidelines in the area of responsibility. Installs, tests, analyzes, troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, related equipment in order to support short-term operations and minimize downtime.

– Performs data entry and verification, keeps accurate files/records, creates detailed reports, using various existing systems for accurate, timely, and compliant records.

– Receives, understands, and disseminates information in subject matter to appropriate stakeholders. Diagnoses problems and aids in resolving technical issues and escalates appropriately to ensure a positive experience.

– Contributes to identifying process inefficiencies and proposes solutions, identifies opportunities through external research on trends in resources, programs, and services and internal research with stakeholders, and supports improvement efforts in order to support long-term operations and minimize downtime.

– Communicate and coordinate with school staff, students and community in accordance with District Success Factors.

– Check and verify facility security and safety by locking doors, windows and gates; reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.

– Service, sanitize, clean and supply restrooms. Clean and sanitize drinking fountains and lunch room facilities.

– Clean, dust, sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum and shampoo facility surfaces and floors. Gather, pickup and empty facility, classroom and grounds trash.

– Follow proper procedures for chemical and power equipment use, in order to prevent damage and injury.

– Strip, seal, finish and polish floors.

– Remove graffiti, gum and other markings from facility surfaces and repaint with protective coating.

– Check equipment according to guidelines and notify managers of repairs to facility operating systems (e.g. plumbing, HVAC, electrical). Clean air vents and filters.

– Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, facility systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of facility does not deteriorate.

– Perform a wide variety of grounds work.

– Make minor repairs.

– Assist school and facility personnel with moving school related items; distributing supplies, materials and equipment; and assembling and installing furniture.

– Prepare facility for scheduled use.

– May perform pool repair and minor maintenance and monitor District swimming pools in accordance with current codes, policy and National Aquatic Certification Agencies. Check and interpret pool gauges, flow meters, and monitoring devices for operational efficiency. Test and adjusts water chemistry to meet standards.

– Inspect, install and repair pool related equipment and related plumbing systems.

– Update site pool daily logs.

– Perform underwater maintenance and tile repair. Coordinate with Pool technician about needed repairs for pool and related equipment.

– Vacuum and sweep pool deck and area.

– Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

– Eighteen years or older per employment regulations.

– Previous leadership experience preferred. Completion of District assigned specific training.

– Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

– Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

– The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.

– Effective communication skills.

– Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.

– Strong attention to detail.

– High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

– Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.

– Work collaboratively with others on a team.

– Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment.

– Knowledge of the basic skills and equipment involved in the performance of the assigned tasks.

– Ability to work alone and secure facility.

– Ability to work effectively and coordinate with other staff to complete assigned work.

– Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

– Working knowledge of trade unions and experience in labor relations preferred.

– Working knowledge of applicable shop and field functions.

– Ability to schedule, initiate and follow through each job to a timely and satisfactory completion.

– Ability to remain current with technology of present trade and be able to perform technical trade work when required.

– Must be available, on short notice, 24-hours a day and 7-days per week, to respond to any emergency situation.

– Must be available for weekend and/or holiday job assignment as required.

 

Education Requirements:

 

– High School Diploma or GED required.
