Essential Functions and Objectives:
Responsible for performing advanced technical analysis to solve business problems using advanced methods. Provides information that may inform the district on key decision-making for priorities and project work cross functionally. Administers updates to procedures, improvements, and reporting within district wide systems and platforms.
Trains and assists with budget management responsibilities, including budget development, monitoring, reporting and analysis. Assists in preparation of monthly department budget status reports; provides assistance to staff as needed to identify areas of concern. The Financial Partner performs strategic analysis related to department budgets, directly supports department leaders in budget development and use of funds and performs other special projects.
– Researches, strategizes and applies analytical methods to solve complex problems. Directs and develops research methodology used. Analyze systems, programs, datasets and reports to enhance the efficacy of district programs, processes, procedures, goals and objectives. Create metrics, examine data, interpret findings and extract insights.
– Improves data storage practices, in order to optimize extract, analysis and delivery of content. Manages data collection and input process into systems; defines and creates queries; ensures reporting needs are documented and meet overall district objectives.
– Maintains proactive communication with key internal and external stakeholders; presents data and recommendations to practitioners, partners and district stakeholders in effort to reveal gaps and areas of improvement. Works closely with functional experts, provides mentorship and catalyzes strong collaboration among all resources involved.
– Educate department leadership on the allocation of resources.
– Provide guidance to department leadership and staff in the implementation and management of a comprehensive financial model for their programs.
– With an assigned network of departments, the Financial Partner will review and become familiar with the programs and supports offered.
– Proactively identify additional sources of funding available to the departments such as grants and guide department leadership staff through the application process.
– Provide financial analysis of department budgets, including identifying and researching variance analysis, risks and solutions and operational needs.
– Facilitate regular meetings with department leadership and staff regarding the financial health of the department, as well as facilitate discussion on upcoming goals, spending needs or changes.
– Develop training content to be used in presentations to department staff during key points.
– Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
– Five (5) years experience in providing group and individual training to a variety of employee populations.
– Five (5) years experience required in budgeting, accounting, and data analysis as well as research and evaluation skills utilizing automated systems (prefer experience in governmental accounting and budgeting environment).
– Skilled in using Excel pivot tables, graphing, macros, formulas and linking.
– Possess good oral and written communication skills.
– Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), as well as Google Suite.
– Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
– Valid Colorado Driver’s License, appropriate insurance coverage and acceptable driving record for the past three years.
– Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.

– The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
– Work collaboratively with others on a team.
– Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment.

– Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematical operations required for the position, preferred.
– Ability to communicate various policies and procedures to school staff and department secretaries, preferred.
– Ability to perform detailed calculations and stay focused on the project, preferred.
– Possess mathematical and reconciliation aptitude, preferred.
– Ability to pay attention to detail and work on multiple projects at one time, preferred.
– Ability to work with time constraints and deadlines, preferred.
Education Requirements:
– Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting or finance; or equivalent experience.
– Master’s degree preferred.
