SEASONAL MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS HELPER (GROUNDS)

Location: SERVICE BUILDING

Work Year: Temporary Hourly, not benefits eligible

Schedule: Season is approximately April 30 – October 31, Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $15.50 – $18.00 hourly, based on experience

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Working under the supervision of the Operations Department Manager or designee(s), the employee performs routine maintenance tasks.

– Use of riding mower, truck and trailer combination, string trimmer, edger, blower, hand tools, powered hand tools.

– Trim/prune trees and shrubs.

– Assist in material delivery (mulch and other landscaping materials), aeration, fertilization and weed spraying operations.

– Conduct basic irrigation checks and repairs.

– Weed control.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

– Ability to perform manual labor.

– Must be at least 16 years of age.

– Prior experience preferred.

– Ability to work in environments that may contain allergens such as pollen, dust, grass, etc.

– Able to lift at least 75 pounds, using appropriate lifting techniques.
