Salary Range: $20.26 – $24.17 per hour

Essential Functions and Objectives:

The HR Coordinator provides administrative support and interacts with customers for Human Resources activities (e.g., Recruitment, Labor Relations, School Partners or other Departments) and performs related duties and special projects.

– Provides or collects information from candidates (e.g., calls, walk-ins) and troubleshoots questions about Human Resource related issues.

– Coordinates with Human Resources Associates/Representatives/Partner on staffing and placement issues for assigned client group.

– Provides exceptional customer service to new employees, hiring managers and internal customers; ensure information provided is complete, accurate and timely.

– Acts as a resource to hiring managers and candidates to ensure understanding of the hiring process and respond to questions or concerns.

– Pre-screens candidates as required for client group.

– Ensures accurate and timely processing of all new hire activities for candidates using Infor HR sytem; meet established service level agreements.

– Receives and validates qualifications, credentials and licenses required.

– Verifies that candidates meet minimum requirements to be hired in the recommended position. Communicate with hiring managers and candidates if qualifications are not met and identify alternatives, if possible.

– Confirms that a criminal background and professional references are completed for each new hire and volunteers.

– Process volunteer background checks.

– Review background check results of volunteers from Department of Safety and Employee Relations.

– Enter information into Volunteer repository.

– Collaborate with schools/department on results of volunteer background check.

– Determines starting salary for staff by assessing transcripts and education, and using established guidelines.

– Generates offer letter correspondence and employment contracts; ensures documentation is accurate and quality reviewed.

– Enters new employee position information into Infor HR system, (Through a CIP volunteers may be in GHR)

– Review and verify incoming and outgoing documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.

– Collect and review new hire paperwork for client group and volunteers.

– Schedules and conducts new hire paperwork for client group and volunteers.

– Acts as Liaison between Employee Services and client group understanding and communicating Benefit, Comp, Payroll policies and procedures and answering questions.

-Updates and maintains the accuracy, confidentiality and security of applicant and new hire information )e.g., records, files).

– Coordinates recruitment team travel arrangements (e.g., training, job fairs). May attend job fairs.

– Prepares and completes variety of management reports and metrics for candidate tracking.

– Composes correspondence, reports, memorandums, meeting agendas and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database or presentation software.

– May assist with providing training courses.

– Works with HR Associates/Representatives/Partner and hiring authorities. Provides back up support to other Human Resources positions as required.

– Performs other related duties.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

– Three (3) or more years of related Human Resources experience.

– Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

– One year training experience preferred for classified client group.

– Experience with the principles and practices of recruitment and staffing administration for licenses personnel.

– Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

– Experience with unemployment processes scheduling.

– Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

Education Requirements:

– High school diploma or equivalent is required.

– Some college coursework or a degree is preferred.
