Essential Functions and Objectives:
Operational responsibility for managing and coordinating the full life cycle administration of a program within one or more functional areas. Facilitates leadership decision-making for program priorities, district support structures and resource allocation.
Administers the execution, maintenance, projects’ implementation, change management, and cross-functional alignment of workstreams; ensures program and district compliance with relevant industry, state and federal regulations.
The Facilities Maintenance Equipment Asset Manager is responsible for the asset management program as related to tracked assets maintained by the Maintenance Division. Works in alignment and collaborates with the district Asset Management Strategy and the Planning Design and Construction Department. Provides coordination to ensure physical asset management improvement initiatives are implemented consistently across the organization. Facilitate development of data-driven metrics that provide actionable information to drive improvements to customer service and increased efficiency.

– Directs, administers, and evaluates program operations, policies and procedures relevant to the lifecycle of the program; ensures effectiveness and demonstrates outcomes beyond program establishment. Coordinates and tracks program expenditures and adjusts project activities, specifications, proposals, contracts and schedules to meet overall program objectives within budget.
– Sets and monitors new program priorities, including: objectives, benefits, key deliverables and resources. Manages long and short term work plans and schedules to track progress; ensures milestone are attained; identifies, analyzes and mitigates project risks, solving for project ‘road blocks’; assesses outcomes and lessons learned; provides timely and accurate project deliverables.
– Lead and coordinate physical asset management support and planning activities across the organization. Convert conceptual physical asset management planning techniques and principles into development and program implementation.
– Commitment to deliver innovative, resourceful, and timely maintenance processes to all areas of responsibility, working closely with analytics in establishing critical KPI data in order to forecast capital renewal, deferred maintenance and end-of-life.
– Oversees induction of Asset data collection, unique to specified equipment. Work with vendors and evaluate new products and equipment. Expand and grow asset management across all facilities, shops, and building operations.
– Accountability for safeguarding all DPS assets within assigned responsibility to operate and maintain as well as maximizing the assets efficiency and sustainability to assure the optimum life of those assets.
– Develop and implement short and long-term goals. Develop and coordinate interdisciplinary teams to conduct physical asset management process and operational studies. Conduct and direct technical studies of methods for improving cost effectiveness for capital and operational planning and provide recommendations for process and planning improvements.
– Prepare technical and oral reports regarding the performance of the physical facility assets and track the effectiveness of asset management strategies in improving cost and service level performance.
– Ensures that conveyances comply with regulations and maintained at optimal standards for the protection and safety of our students, staff, and community. Works with Denver Fire, contractors, and Facilities Maintenance to ensure compliance.
– Performs other related duties, including special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
– 3+ years of facility management experience or HR Diploma/GED and 5 years facility maintenance experience with 2 years facilities maintenance supervisor experience.
– Must meet Denver Public Schools motor vehicle insurability standards.
– Valid Drivers License, appropriate insurance coverage.
– Knowledge of program management best practices.
– Work style that yields high results when working independently or as part of a team.
– Ability to foster effective relationships with district staff, schools, and external partners.
– Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
– Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals, establish priorities, and organize resources.
– Ability to multi-task without compromising integrity or fidelity.
– Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products and/or Project Management Software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
– Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.
– Inspired, visionary who can foster/generate excitement, buy-in and understanding with colleagues and employees outside of the team.
– High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.
– Knowledge of current and updated procedures and technology for maintenance and facilities operations preferred.
– Knowledge of all applicable rules, codes, and specifications with an emphasis on safety preferred.
– Ability to maintain open, effective communication up and down the chain of command preferred.
– Ability to respond to emergency situations anytime they occur and coordinate maintenance responses preferred.
– Ability to coordinate with other department staff and work effectively with diverse staff at all levels, in all departments preferred.
– Ability to multi-task, plan and organize work, at times with interruptions preferred.
– Make decisions quickly and complete assignments within specified timeframe preferred.
Education Requirements:
– Bachelors Degree or relevant work experience.
