Job Description
We are looking for a talented 2^nd Shift Blockline Area Manager to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, IN.
2^ND Shift is Monday – Friday 2pm to 10:30pm
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Manages, develops, and leads the daily activities of multiple production teams.
* Responsible for the daily activities of multiple production teams including managing team members, housekeeping, and meeting production targets.
* Works cross functionally to recommend and engage in improving safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
* Provides guidance and feedback for team members in accomplishing tasks and goals; sets expectations and clarifies responsibilities.
* Coaches and mentors team members. Identifies training needs; develops and implements training plans
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Intermediate level of supervisory experience required.
* Manage machining operations and lead prompt problem solving efforts for any downtime events.
* Lead cross-shift communications.
* Manage more than 25 shop floor employees.
* Responsible for coaching and development of direct reports.
* Partner with cross-functional teams (ME, Quality, HR, and Materials) on problem solving and shift operations.
* Ensure excellence in customer service for internal customers.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
