Job Description
The Finance & Risk Shared Services (FRSS) TIR Non-Income Tax Reporting team requires an experienced tax resource to support external Sales and Use Tax and other Indirect Tax audits, and support other indirect tax initiatives.
Job Description:
- Candidate will be responsible for deliverables related to external tax audits and examinations by state and local taxing jurisdictions as they relate to various indirect taxes.
- Candidate will act as the primary point of contact with the external auditors, and will coordinate the data and document compilation working with other Tax staff and internal functions on audit requests
- Candidate will provide timely status updates to management and the businesses on the progress of the open tax audits.
- Candidate will also be expected to support other tax compliance functions within the organization including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual tax filings consisting of sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and other indirect tax filings.
- Candidate will also support the output review from the Vertex sales tax engine interfacing the Accounts Payable module.
- Candidate will conduct research against the implications of indirect tax laws and proactively communicate findings to management and internal customers, as required
Job Skills/Qualifications:
This is an experienced tax professional position.The following are requirements of this position:
- A college degree with 5+ years of experience with state and local non-income tax matters, specifically Sales and Use Tax.
- Experience and technical knowledge of the various Sales and Use Tax rules and regulations
- Experience leading Sales and Use Tax audits corresponding with external tax auditors.
- Experience working with sales and use tax reporting systems
- Understanding of accounting concepts and principles
- Candidate must be self-driven and possess strong verbal and written communication, as well as, strong technical and analytical skills.
- Candidate must also possess strong time-management and organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks under deadline pressure.
