This program provides a safe and warm space for up to 60 men at a time, provides outreach services and hot meals 7 days a week. The engagement specialist is responsible for providing resource brokering services including crisis intervention, conflict resolution and other duties at a men’s, emergency shelter and transitional program. In addition, this position monitors meal service for the hot meals program. Summary of essential job functions and responsibilities: 1. Work with the Program Director, Housing Navigator, and other Engagement Specialists to ensure that the Share House is safe and welcoming to a broad diversity men experiencing homelessness including people of all races, nationalities, languages, ages, abilities. 2. Provide basic intake and orientation to all new residents on a daily basis, including but not limited to reviewing Shelter Expectations. 3. Provide conflict resolution by encouraging positive methods for problem solving 4. Provide ongoing services to all shelter residents as detailed on their housing stability plan. 5. Provide resource brokering, clothing, blankets, bedding and other needed items in a fair and equitable manner to residents. 6. Notify police, fire, and emergency medical or other emergency personnel if warranted by events in the Shelter. 7. Meet with supervisor and participate in department staff meetings and quarterly staff trainings. 8. Complete housing assessments with each resident. 9. Maintain accurate, complete, up-to-date daily documentation of residents served and their basic demographic information. Enter data into ServicePoint (under supervision). Submit paperwork in a timely manner. 10. Record each shifts activity in the shift log book. 11. Develop and maintain a positive relationships with residents and other employees 12. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Experience: Position requires a minimum of one (1) years’ experience in related field, specifically with people experiencing homelessness or low-income individuals. Experience in dealing with substance abuse, mental health concerns and crisis intervention desired. Knowledge and Skills: • Social and economic issues creating poverty, working successfully with practices and techniques related to people with low income to achieve greater self- sufficiency. • Knowledge of local social service resources/providers • Understanding of the housing first model, harm reduction and strength based case management • Effective problem-solving skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Proficient in written and oral communication • Show strong leadership abilities • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through from beginning to end on tasks and projects • Basic principles of confidentiality, crisis de-escalation, assertive engagement, and trauma informed care. • Be culturally sensitive to diverse client populations • Prepare and maintain clear, accurate, complete and timely records • Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries with all clients served • Understand and follow complex written and oral instructions, guidelines and procedures • Work independently and at the same time be a vital and contributing part of a team. The Client Support Specialist will provide support to clientele accessing the Day Center or Lincoln Place, a Housing First Apartment building, that provides support for people experiencing homelessness or vulnerable people in housing. Client Support Specialists work closely with Case Managers to implement individualized client centered care and play an integral role in supporting clients while they are living in homelessness or at Lincoln Place. The role of the Client Support Specialist is to assist participants in achieving independence and self-sufficiency by assisting with life skills development, modeling and coaching pro-social behaviors, and being a dependable and caring support person. This position reports to the Share Housing First Director or the Day Center Director.     Punchdrunk International is looking for a Writer to join an R&D team developing a new digital theatre project. This individual will be an exceptional writer and maker in the creative industries, with experience in theatrical, immersive, gaming or digital projects. The role will join the Punchdrunk creative team on developing a new production, with a particular emphasis on writing and dramaturgical work. To put it simply, police officers maintain law and order: protect members of the public and their property; and prevent, detect and investigate crime. But of course, it's a much more complex job than that. You will work to a shift pattern and whilst this is normally over a 40 hour week Police Scotland has a range of flexible working policies to suit individual circumstances. We're an integral part of the community - as much at home in major sporting events as we are in local classrooms. Our work is based in, around and for the local communities that we serve. That's why it's important our officers are respectful of the culture and beliefs of others. Make no mistake, it can be a challenging and unpredictable job - as you leave for your daily patrol, there's no knowing what you might encounter - but it's also rewarding like no other. You'll actively make life safer and more secure for everyone around you. And nothing's more important than that. As a probationary officer, you'll come face to face with the community we serve every day: providing the initial response to incidents; searching person(s), premises and vehicles; attending calls; interviewing suspects, victims and witnesses; taking statements; preparing reports; making enquiries into crimes and offences; gathering and using intelligence; making arrests; preserving crime scenes and presenting evidence in court. You'll need to complete two years as a probationary officer. Following this, you'll need to prove over the course of time, that you have developed into a fully competent officer, across all aspects of the role before you even start to think about developing your career prospects. Lateral development can be gained by specialising in a particular area of policing, such as CID, Road Policing, Licensing or the Support Unit. Of course, for some officers with the requisite skills and potential, the option to study for the police diploma can be considered - which is the very first step towards being eligible for future promotion.
