Full-Time Senior Public Information Officer
Job Description
The Sr. Public Information Representative informs the public about the impacts of UC ANR research, extension and education through news writing, media outreach, website development and other communication products. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced public relations and communications professional to produce a variety of communication products, including written, visual, digital and electronic communications. Supports the development of social media platforms and helps ensure search engine optimization for web communications.
Works with academics and other UC ANR personnel to produce a variety of communication products, such as news stories, promotional materials, annual reports, etc. Writes news releases, responds to media inquiries, and identifies and pitches stories to publicize the benefits of ANR research to Californians. Provides media relations training for academics. Supports academics and leadership on communications strategy and campaigns. Member of a Strategic Communications team of nine professionals.
Salary – Min $62,900/year to Mid $91,400/year
