Nordco serves the rail industry and its contractors in transportation safety, including port authorities, agriculture, mining, chemicals, and energy.

 

What a day in the life of an electrical engineer looks like:

  • You’ll innovate with the Product Development team by designing and developing new products and improving existing products, using your knowledge of powertrain, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to solve problems. You will analyze, test, and validate design components such as; electrical connectors, harnesses, fittings, valves, filters, and hose routing for hydraulic systems. Having experience with programming PLC’s and using AutoCAD software to design hydraulic, electronic and/or pneumatic schematics will make you a shoe in for success!
  • You’ll Support internal personnel, external suppliers, and customers as new products are being developed and improve existing products, using root cause analysis to drive permanent corrective actions ensure customer satisfaction. Travel to customer locations for system start-up, troubleshooting, and training up to 10% of the time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. A related technical degree from an ABET accredited program will also be considered.  Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree. Proficiency in MS Office, PLC programming and CAD design of electrical systems will make you awesome at this job.
      • Required experience: 2-4 years of mobile/industrial equipment control system design and an understanding of electrical systems as it relates to heavy machinery. Strong data analysis skills will be very helpful.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is primarily light-duty and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds, the ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted.
