JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Works closely with the mobile development team to develop, test, maintain, and support high quality native Android / iOS applications for the internal and external clients.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain next generation native mobile applications for Android / iOS.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop functional, user-friendly mobile applications.
  • White label current Android / iOS mobile applications for Black Knight clients.
  • Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code
  • Write unit and behavioral tests to document required behavior and identify issues
  • Troubleshoot, debug and optimize performance
  • Research and propose new mobile frameworks, packages, and products
  • Participate in design discussion in a team based environment
  • Write unit and UI tests for code robustness, usability, and reliability.
  • Fix bugs and improve performance.
  • Research and stay up to date on new mobile technology trends and protocols.
  • Review code to ensure compliance with overall design parameters and corporate development standards.
  • Works with CI/CD processes and tools.
  • Contributes to the estimation of user stories as part of release and iteration planning meetings.
  • May mentor or guide mobile development work of less experienced development staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience working in an Agile environment with a daily scrum desired
  • Proficient in Kotlin (Multiplatform Mobile framework), Java, Swift, Objective-C
  • Practical experience with Google Console, App Store Connect
  • Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging
  • Proficient in Git
  • Experience with continuous integration
  • Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) concepts and secure coding practices desired
  • Experience consuming Web APIs (REST & SOAP) a plus
  • Skilled in front-end / UI development
  • Focused and agile under pressure
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with focus on timeliness, documentation, and communications with peers and business users alike
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within Black Knight or outside the organization (executives, regulators, clients, etc.)

iOS

  • Experience building and supporting iOS native mobile applications
  • Experience working with Swift 4.0+ development desired
  • Experience with GCD (Grand Central Dispatch) concurrency a plus
  • Understanding of Network frameworks (URLSession, Network Security classes etc.)
  • Knowledge of programming with higher order functions
  • Experience with Unit and UI testing using tools such as Xcode instruments, TestFlight a plus
  • Proficient in creating and editing complex Xcode storyboards a plus
  • Understands how to manage and configure multi-client build, multiple schemes, and targets
  • Proficient with Git or similar version control tools

Android

  • Experience building and supporting Android native mobile applications
  • Proficient with Java, Android Studio and Android SDK
  • Experience with Kotlin and/or Gradle a plus
  • Knowledge of MVVM design patterns
  • Proficient with Git or similar version control tools
  • Experience with LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation Components & other JetPack components desired
  • Proficient with UI testing frameworks such as espresso or UI Automator a plus

Mobile Engineer II

Developing professional role. Works independently on small to medium development projects as a project team leader that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and knowledge in a specific business area. Develops solutions requiring analysis and research under the general direction of more senior application development analysts, supervisors, or managers. Generally works on more than one (1) project at a time as a project team member. Typically requires more than three (3) years of development experience with one (1) year mobile development experience.
